Neighbours, Friends and Families for Older Adults

North West Edmonton Seniors Society is committed to:
Empowering Seniors to Create Safer Communities

How You Can Identify Abuse and Help Older Adults at Risk

Raising public awareness is key to addressing elder abuse. In discussing it openly we can work towards creating an environment where it can be recognized and addressed.

Goals of this project are:

To promote the awareness and recognition of all types of abuse of older adults.

To increase the safety and security of older adults within communities. To educate older adults, as well as family members and professionals providing services and support to them.

To develop community connections so that those interested in prevention of abuse of older adults can work together.

  • Learn to "See it, Name it and Check it" - and easy way to recognize and do something about abuse.

Talk to the older adult. Name your concern.

Ask questions, check with professionals, check for danger - help with safe planning.
